Luna Park

Entrance of Luna Park Melbourne near Hotel Grand Chancellor Melbourne

Step through Mr Moon’s famous smiling mouth and into more than a century of Melbourne fun at Luna Park, St Kilda’s much-loved heritage amusement park.

Dating back to 1912, Luna Park’s Great Scenic Railway is the world’s oldest continually operating wooden rollercoaster, with a brakeman still riding aboard each train to control its speed by hand.
Beyond the Scenic Railway, there are classic rides, sideshow games and plenty of old-school carnival charm. Make a day of it with the historic Palais Theatre next door and St Kilda Beach just across the road.

Luna Park Melbourne is open every weekend and public holidays, plus every day of the Victorian school holidays. From Hotel Grand Chancellor Melbourne, it’s an easy tram ride to St Kilda.
