Australia’s largest privately-owned museum, you could easily spend a whole day exploring the property. With little nooks and crannies to discover in the building, a hidden library and delicious dining options with their restaurants and fully stocked bars. This iconic place to visit while you’re in Hobart will keep you entertained for hours even during those rainy days.

Mona, the Museum of Old and New Art is located on Hobart’s River Derwent at Berriedale only 15 minutes’ drive north from our Hotel. The museum is open Wednesday to Monday from 10 am to 5 pm however it is closed on Tuesdays. If you don’t have a car, why not take yourself just across the road to the docks where ferries regularly depart for Mona at the Brooke Street Pier.

Grand Chancellor Hobart is the best location to stay within walking distance to the ferry to Mona. The ferry (The MR1) is only a 5 minute walk away across the Hobart docks from the Hotel.
