Chancellor Clean
COVID SAFE HOTEL
-OUR COMMITMENT TO SAFETY-
Grand Chancellor Hotels have always maintained strict standards for cleanliness and hygiene. In light of
the COVID-19 pandemic, we have implemented ‘Chancellor Clean’, a programme which builds on existing
measures with increased frequency of cleaning and sanitising. Our top priority is the health and safety of
our guests, team members, business partners and the local communities in which we operate. Our new
policy and procedures here at Grand Chancellor Hobart have been built around the following areas of focus;
-EDUCATION-
Our team has been trained in their responsibilities to eliminate the risk of COVID-19 to both themselves and
to others. This not only includes increased cleaning and hygiene practices, but also being able to recognise
and deal with a potential risk. If they’re feeling unwell, they have a responsibility to not come to work, advise
their supervisor, engage with Public Health and are not to return to work until having the all clear from Public
Health to do so. This training also includes how to handle the situation when another staff member or guest
guest appears to be showing symptoms.
-CLEANING AND HYGIENE-
Our staff will be responsible for increased cleaning measures, paying extra attention to both guest rooms
and public areas. Frequent touch points will also be a focus such as lift buttons, door handles and railings.
Hand washing facilities and the use of sanitiser are accessible to both guests and staff along with clear
signage for best practices. Sanitiser stations will be placed around the hotel in more frequented areas such
as main reception desk, the lobby area, The Atrium and Tasman Restaurant.
-RESTRICTIONS AND MONITORING-
Employee education covers strict procedures for reporting symptoms, testing and quarantine for guests
and staff as well as our third parties. Briefings and compliance for suppliers and contractors will also be
implemented, along with regular temperature testing being carried out. As a business, our Hotel is ready to
uphold WHS COVID-19 safety standards and compliance.
-SOCIAL DISTANCING-
It’s vital that we enforce social distancing measures to ensure a safe and enjoyable stay at our Hotel.
Spatial awareness is highlighted through floor markings and posters. Room capacities will be clearly signed
in public area’s and gathering spaces. Seating arrangements have already been set to accommodate for
these measures.
-CONTACT TRACING-
Check in TAS - all guests and staff are required to check in via the Check in TAS app upon entry into the hotel, along with Government requirements. Full policy details here.
